Supporting Graduates: In Discussion With Pharma QA Graduate Parnian Dokouhaki

The journey from dream to reality for students eager to enter the Canadian pharmaceutical industry can often feel daunting. The road is challenging between adjusting to a new country and building a career in a competitive Pharma QA market. But with the right guidance, it’s also incredibly rewarding.

At the Academy of Applied Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS), we don’t just prepare students for the industry; we empower them to succeed. Meet Parnian Dokouhaki, a Pharmaceutical QAQC Program graduate who now works in the Quality Assurance (QA) department at Eurofins. Her journey from student to professional is a powerful example of what’s possible with determination and the right support.

A Passion for Pharma QA

Parnian’s story begins with a simple but powerful motivation: passion. Even after completing her first degree in her home country, Parnian remained resolute, curious, and eager to expand the scope of her knowledge. “I was intrigued to learn more about the pharmaceutical industry,” she explained, reflecting on why she chose AAPS. “The instructors gave me valuable knowledge on how to pursue my career in Canada, and I really appreciate them for that.”

But it wasn’t just about learning—it was about transformation. Parnian credits our quality assurance training program with equipping her with technical expertise and confidence, helping her step into the industry with purpose.

Career Support That Opens Doors

For many students, the leap from education to employment can be overwhelming. But at AAPS, students aren’t left to figure it out alone. Parnian highlights the role of AAPS’s Career Services team in her success:

“I knew I was in good hands when the career services team helped me navigate the job market, refine my resume, and guided me through the interview process. They gave me the confidence to secure an internship in the industry I was looking for.”

That internship became the launchpad for her current role at Eurofins, proving that even the most ambitious goals are within reach with the right tools.

Why is Canadian Education Key?

As a Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance and Quality Control graduate, Parnian emphasizes the unique value of Canadian education in the global pharmaceutical industry. “My advice to all the students would be to take full advantage of the Canadian education you pursue,” she said.

She explained that Canadian education provides world-class knowledge and helps students build relationships with industry professionals. “Even if you have work experience and education from your home country, gaining that Canadian education will open so many new doors and opportunities for your future career.”

This perspective highlights an essential truth: education is about what you learn and where it can take you.
