Regulations are laws which must be followed by the food processor. All processors (big and small) must follow the regulations outlined in the Food and Drug Regulations. Having knowledge of food regulations can protect and help food companies develop new products, manufacture existing products, and distribute safe food products by reducing, minimizing, or eliminating any risk of customer complains, recalls, or even legal actions.
