This course is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the Canadian pharmaceutical industry’s big picture, including its history, structure, regulations, and future direction.

Topics covered in the course include an overview of the Canadian healthcare system, drug development and approval processes, clinical research, pharmacovigilance, and drug safety. This course will provide students with a broad understanding of the Canadian pharmaceutical industry’s big picture, preparing them for careers in the industry or related fields. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex landscape of the pharmaceutical industry, make informed decisions, and contribute to improving healthcare and the economy.

Overall, this course is designed to deliver students a “big picture” perspective of the entire drug development process in Canada and the scope and functioning of a pharmaceutical company with a focus on drug discovery, product development, and drug safety.
